Ziptrek offers chance to be like Spider-Man
VANCOUVER - Not everyone can feel the exhilaration of winning gold at the Olympics, but thousands will be able to experience a breathtaking opportunity soaring across the heart of downtown Vancouver, six stories high and over thousands of international visitors.
From Feb. 12-28, Ziptrek Ecotours will host a free zip line at Robson Square. Guests begin on a tower eight storeys high, above the Vancouver Law Courts, soar diagonally over Robson Street and end up on a four-storey tower near the Vancouver Art Gallery on Howe street.
“There’s a ton of buzz going around,” said Warrick Hubbard, spokesman for Ziptrek Ecotours. “People are super excited to zip, especially in an urban landscape. Plus, it’s a free activity.”
The zip line will operate rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. There are no age restrictions, but guests must weigh more than 65 pounds (29.5 kilograms), as the zip line is gravity-fed. About 1,000 people are expected each day.
