Queenstown’s X-IT Youth Centre to benefit from Ziptrek Ecotours Locals Weekend

Ziptrek Ecotours is thrilled to be able to make a significant donation to Queenstown’s X-IT Youth Centre this week following the adventure company’s second annual local’s weekend.

 

Queenstown people were able to enjoy the Moa 4-line Tour and brand new Kea 6-line Tour at a 50% discount last Saturday and Sunday (4/5th December) and 10% of the proceeds taken over the weekend were to be donated to the X-IT Youth Centre.

Ziptrek Ecotours General Manager Trent Yeo says it was fantastic to get local people onto the tour while helping raise funds for a local cause.

“We are writing a cheque to the total value of $1,429.48,” said Ziptrek Ecotours General Manager Trent Yeo.

“The weather was fantastic and locals were stoked to be able to take advantage of our special offer and help out this awesome charity. As expected the new Kea 6-Line Tour was a hot favourite and guests just loved zipping right to the bottom of the hill into town.

“Several people who participated in our first local’s day return to try the new Kea Tour which was great,” said Mr Yeo.

The X-IT Youth Centre is a Non-Government Organisation that works with youths aged 12-24 in the Lakes District community.  It delivers projects, activity programmes and opens as a drop-in centre from Monday to Friday 3.30-6pm.  Established by Rose and Charles Fraser in 2003 as Queenstown Life Trust the organisation is now run with the help of six trustees.

“The Ziptrek local’s day was a huge success and it was lovely to meet the team,” said Mrs Fraser. “The funding will be used to conduct new projects and ideas in the near future.”
