Queenstown Mayor opens new Ziptrek Ecotours Kea Tour

Queenstown Mayor Vanessa van Uden took to trees high above the adventure capital on Friday (19 November) to officially open Ziptrek Ecotours’ new and thrilling Kea 6-Line Tour.
Soon after the ribbon cutting, Ziptrek Ecotours guide Justin Berger zipped into the newly-built aerial tree platform holding a New Zealand flag.
The new Kea 6-Line Tour delivers the world’s steepest tree-to tree flying fox as part of its high velocity eco-adventure. Zippers travel to speeds of up to 70 km ph on an extended ‘zip into town’ experience that builds on the company’s original Moa 4-Line Tour.
The 3-hour Kea Tour also includes a stunning 20 minute trek through ancient native beech forest along the Tiki Trail extension, a track created by Ziptrek Ecotours and gifted to the community.
Ms van Uden welcomed the company and its commitment to sustainable business practice:
"I am honored to be here today to open the Ziptrek Ecotours Kea 6-Line Tour. The balance between the environment and adventure which is trademark of this activity, is something to be both admired and emulated. Congratulations and I wish you every success for the future.”
Ziptrek Ecotours recently won the Sustainable Business Award at the Westpac Queenstown Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
