Ziptrek is located in the Carleton Lodge, which is in the middle of Whistler's pedestrain village.  There is no vehicle access in the village, but public parking is available  nearby in the Day Lots, which are five minutes at most from the Carleton Lodge by foot.

Exit highway 99 at Village Gate Boulevard and follow the signs to Day Lots 1,2,3,4 or 5.  Park your car, then proceed on foot toward the base of the ski hill.  Lot 2 is closest to the pedestrian crosswalk across Blackcomb Way.

The Carleton Lodge is between the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas in Skier's Plaza, and is home to Ziptrek, Garbonzo Bike and Bean, Essentially Blackcomb, and The Longhorn Saloon.  The Carleton Lodge is also close to several hotels located in the pedestrian village, so you can park at your hotel and walk to Ziptrek.

GPS Navigation

The civic address of the Carleton Lodge will direct you to an underground service entrance.  There is no public parking available at this location.  The closest public parking is in Day Lots 1-5.  To program your in-car GPS, use the addresses above, or navigate to Whistler, BC, exit at Village Gate Boulevard, then follow the signs to the Day Lots.  The following waypoints may be useful:

  • Hwy 99 and Village Gate Boulevard: 50 N 6'57.27", 122 W 57'33.56"
  • Day Lot entrance from Blackcomb Way: 50 N 7'3.32", 122 W 57'12.63"
  • Carleton Lodge: 50 N 6'47.95", 122 W 57'15.34"

Vancouver Airport to Whistler

The Vancouver to Whistler Sea to Sky highway is one of the world's great scenic drives. It takes about 3-4 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.

Travel Time: approximately 3.5 hours, depending on traffic & construction delays
Distance: approx. 115 kilometres or 70 miles

  1.   Drive east out of the airport on Grant McConachie Way.
  2.   Follow the Hwy 99 North signs over the Arthur Lang Bridge onto Granville Street.
  3.   Follow Granville Street north crossing the Granville Street Bridge.
  4.   Shift to the far right lane of the bridge and take the Seymour Street exit.
  5.   Follow Seymour Street north until Georgia Street.
  6.   Turn left onto Georgia Street.
  7.   Georgia Street takes you through Vancouver's lovely downtown core heading west, through Stanley Park and over the majestic Lions Gate bridge.
  8.   Exit the bridge on the Marine Drive West turnoff.
  9.   Shift to the far right lane once on Marine Drive.
  10.   Take the first right onto Taylor Way.
  11.   Travel up the hill and turn left onto Highway 1.
  12.   Follow the signs to Whistler Hwy 99.

 

Canada/US Border Crossing

 As of June 1, 2009, Canada/US border crossing requirements have changed and travellers require passports, Nexus cards, or other approved identification.  The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative site has details about passport requirements and more. 

Seattle to Whistler

Whistler is about a 6 to 7.5-hour drive from Seattle. The trip to from Seattle to Vancouver takes about 3 hours. The Vancouver-Whistler drive takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.

Travel Time: approximately 6 - 7.5 hours
Distance: approx. 340 kilometres or 215 miles

  1.  Follow I-5 north to Canada-U.S. border. (160km/100 miles).
  2.  When in Canada, I-5 turns into Highway 99. Follow Hwy. 99 north over Oak Street Bridge. (50 km/30 mi.) Highway 99 becomes 99/Oak Street.
  3.  Turn left onto West 41st Avenue. (1 km/0.5 mi.).
  4.  Turn right onto Granville Street. Follow Granville over the Granville Street Bridge into downtown Vancouver. (15 km/9 mi.) Take Seymour Street exit off Bridge.
  5.  Follow Seymour Street, turn left on Georgia Street.
  6.  Follow Georgia Street through downtown Vancouver.
  7.  Georgia Street becomes the Stanley Park Causeway and will take you over the Lions Gate Bridge. (3 km/2 mi.).
  8.  Follow signs to West Vancouver off the Lions Gate Bridge. Continue west on Marine Drive. (0.5 km/0.25 mi.).
  9.  Turn right onto Taylor Way.
  10.  Continue up hill and turn left onto Highway 1 West.
  11.  Follow the signs to Whistler Highway 99 (110 km/70 miles).
